Creating a Website to Promote Your Library Program: Copyright, Public Domain, and Creative Commons

This online tool will help you evaluate the fair use according to the U.S. Copyright Code. It allows you to organize information about who you are and the item you wish to use. It allows you to examine the four factors of fair use (the purpose, nature of this use, and amount of to be used, and the effect of using it), so that you can evaluate the fairness level. It allows users to save this evaluation for later use. Additional resources on fair use are also provided.
