8:00 - 8:30 Registration and Networking

 

8:30 - 9:30 Story Writing with Students.

Dawn Sedorus lead us in a round robin story writing activity she uses with her students. She will tell us what she does as we participate as writers. We will discuss our experiences using similar activities with students and explore how we might engage students in our schools as story writers.

 

9:30 - 10:30 An Introduction to PadCaster: A Resource for Recording Students and Their Stories.

Nina Baker will then introduce us to PadCaster, an iPad-based, all-in-one mobile production studio that school librarians and teachers can use to digitally record their students' stories. We will explore the equipment, consider how this resource could be used in the schools, and discuss our experiences using these technologies in the classroom.

 

10:45 - 12:00 School Library System Council Meeting.

Topics to be discussed include: announcements, school library annual reports, library databases- what do you have that you really like?

 

12:00-12:45 Lunch.

 

12:45-3:00  Learning From Others: Discussing, Sharing, and Next Steps.

School librarians with different experiences and different grade levels will be able to describe areas about their library programs that they need feedback on so they can create more meaningful experiences for their students.
