It is important for school librarians to share information about their programs with others in our schools so they better understand how we contribute to student learning and instruction. One way school librarians can do this is by creating effective annual reports with messages tailored to different constituents. This will enable school librarians to clearly describe to others how their school library program contributes to teaching and instruction in the school.
School librarians will look at their accomplishments this year, identify different constituents in the schools who share similar values, and consider how the constituents' needs were supported through the school library program. School librarians will also evaluate other school library annual reports, look at different ways to create annual reports, and begin planning of their annual reports for this school year. School librarians can also share annual reports they created in the past.
We will also discuss the AASL Standards, choose a new School Library System Council President, and recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of school librarians this year.

Topics to be discussed include: announcements, school library annual reports, library databases- what do you have that you really like?
12:00-12:45 Lunch.
12:45-3:00 Learning From Others: Discussing, Sharing, and Next Steps.
School librarians with different experiences and different grade levels will be able to describe areas about their library programs that they need feedback on so they can create more meaningful experiences for their students.
