Axis 360

Exploring Our Ebook Collection and Recent Enhancements to Axis360, and How to Use These Resources With Our Students.

Andrew Dutcher, School Library System Coordinator, Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES.

One of our library services is our class-sets and audiobook collection and these have been very popular with teachers. Since we started this service, Axis360 continues to evolve their program to better meet the needs of teachers and students. In addition, we have had several new school librarians in our schools.

With devices in hand, we will explore Axis360 and our ebook collections. We will discuss satellite accounts for our school libraries, how we could use these ebooks with students, and ideas for developing our collection.

TeachingBooks.net is an easy-to-use website that adds a multimedia dimension to the reading experiences of children's and young adult books. Val Edwards will cover updates to the resources and tools, ways to promote summer reading in their schools, and information to support a "Train the Trainer" agenda to help school librarians implement and develop collaborative opportunities with their teachers.
